The holidays are right around the corner and some of my favorite gifts (to give and receive) are always beauty related. Winter is the perfect time to experiment with bolder colors and it’s also a great excuse to invest in luxe skincare – dry skin is becoming on no one. Here are some great gift idea for friends and family, with a few super splurges thrown in for good measure.
I’m not a huge fan of sparkles or intricate designs when it comes to nails, so dark, rich shades are generally my go-to’s around the holidays, with the occasional metallic polish for parties. Essie is always a safe bet. From left to right: Penny Talk, In The Lobby, Frock N’Roll.
These aren’t technically beauty products, but they’re so pretty I’m including them! Diptyque’s limited edition Colored Glass Candle Trio features new scents for the holiday – Sapin, Liquidamber, and Oliban. What do these smell like? Doesn’t matter, the packaging is so good I don’t even care.
I’ve been using The Multiple from Nars in Copacabana since I was 14 and I’ve never found another highlighter that compares. Can be used on eyes, cheeks, lips, and body. And one tube lasts forever.
My company, Flora Nuit, has partnered with MAKE on a few events and giveaways, and I’ve come to love the brand. One of my favorite products is the Moonlight primer, which shields against High Energy Visible (HEV) Light (the stuff that comes from your phone and computer!) and Infrared (IR) Light. It also makes your skin glow all day. (Photo from Garance Dore)
I love liquid blush in the winter, when skin is prone to dryness (and dullness). This one from Giorgio Armani illuminates and gives natural looking color.
What to get for the beauty lover who has everything? How about Tom Ford’s Lips & Boys 50 piece set for a cool $1,950?
AERIN’s limited edition set in collaboration with the bespoke handbag collection Edie Parker is also a solid splurge. The gray pearlescent clutch celebrates the Rose de Grasse fragrance with an exclusive white rose motif. The set includes AERIN’s limited edition Rose de Grasse lipstick and the AERIN Gold Travel Comb (BECAUSE WHO DOESN’T NEED THAT?). Just $1,350.
