Oh, July 4th… Day of BBQs and beers, fireworks, and freedom. All across this great nation we gather with family and friends to celebrate the birth of the US of A. And while we love the flag, our 4th of July fashion needn’t revolve around it. Whether you’ll be enjoying the holiday in the city like me, relaxing at the beach, or lounging in the countryside, we’ve got an outfit for every locale.
If you’ll be celebrating in one of our country’s great metropoli (I realize this isn’t a word, but I like it, so I’m going to try to make it happen), chances are you’ll be dealing with brutal heat rising up from the concrete and, as a result, some sweating issues. This cream Vero Moda Lace top will hide the evidence of your perspiration, the rag & bone jorts will keep you cool, and the Miz Mooz wedges will help you stand above the crowd to see the fireworks without some dude’s head in the way.
Maybe you’ll be fleeing the city on July 3rd for a few days of fresh air and wide open spaces. Are Dolce & Gabbana and Givenchy a bit much for the countryside? Perhaps. But as Oscar Wilde said, “You can never be overdressed or over educated.”
For all those lucky enough to be lounging at the beach this holiday, keep it simple. A dress with a classic silhouette in a bold color, a roomy tote, comfy sandals, and big sunglasses.
